Viking Horticulture

Welcome to our MGM Academy of Agribusiness webpage! We are dedicated to providing students with hands-on learning opportunities that equip them with the skills and knowledge needed for success in today's workforce. Students are involved in supervised hands-on agricultural experiences concentrating on the fundamentals of agriculture, basic shop and woodworking skills, and horticulture. We are dedicated to preparing students for careers in agriculture and allied industries.

The MGM Academy of Agribusiness is also home to seven greenhouses, known as Viking Horticulture. Viking Horticulture is open for sales to the public during school hours in the Fall (October- December) and Spring (March-May), allowing our students also learn customer service and key employability skills. Sales from Viking Horticulture fund and maintain MGM's standard of excellence in agriculture.

Students enrolled in our program are also members of the student-led Career Tech Service Organization, Semmes FFA. FFA welcomes members who aspire to become teachers, doctors, scientists, business owners and more. Members focus on skill development and career preparation events.
