Uniform Information

Top: Girls

Grade 9 and repeating Grade 9 - solid black polo style shirt with long or short sleeves. Grade 10 - 12 White Oxford or Polo style shirts with long or short sleeves. (No t-shirts will be allowed). Shirts may have "MGM" monogrammed on the front. Undershirts must be solid black (9th) or solid white (10th - 12th). Athletes are to wear game day attire according to directives from team head

Bottom: Girls

Pants must be khaki/tan and full-length. Capris, shorts, cargo, and carpenter pants are not allowed. Pants must be hemmed: not rolled, cut, or torn. Sagging pants are prohibited. Loops, zippers, pockets, and/or drawstrings on the sides or thigh areas of pants are prohibited. Jeans/denim pants are prohibited. Pants may not be tucked into footwear.

Top: Boys

If a belt is worn it must be solid BLACK or solid BROWN.


Shoes

Shoes must be closed toe and closed back. No sandals, slippers, or slides may be worn.


Outerwear: Male/Female

Only SOLID gray, black, blue, and/or white jackets/sweaters will be allowed. Trench-coats, denim, or CAMOUFLAUGED jackets are not allowed. No button-up, polo, long sleeve t-shirts, or any other type shirt will be allowed to be worn as outerwear. Outerwear may not be worn tied around the waist. No outerwear or clothing with another school’s logo is allowed. Jackets with hoods may be worn, but hoods cannot be worn on the head on campus. Hats and visors are not allowed on campus. Bandannas, wraps, bonnets, wave caps, sweat bands, or scarves are not allowed.


Additional Notes

Jewelry/ Piercings are allowed in students’ ears only. No wallet chains are allowed. There are no spiked collars Accessories: or wrist bands permitted. Students may not wear sweatbands or arm socks. Hair: Students must have natural human hair color only. No disruptive hair styles will be allowed. Skirts: Female students with religious affiliations prohibiting them from wearing pants must have a letter on file to wear skirts. Skirts must be khaki/tan and hemmed below the knee. Skirts are not to have slits above the knee. All Mary G. Montgomery High School students are expected to observe the basic standards of cleanliness, modesty, pride, good judgment, and good grooming. Clothing should fit modestly and be worn appropriately by all students. Student dress that is disruptive to the educational program or school environment is prohibited. According to the Mobile County Public School System policy, students must be in uniform in order to attend class. This policy further encourages that parents be notified if their child is out of uniform, so they may bring items necessary for the student to become uniform compliant. Violations of the approved uniform policy will result in the following disciplinary action(s) at the discretion of the administrators: 1st referral: Verbal warning & placement in retract for the remainder of the day or until the infraction is corrected 2nd referral: After school detention 3rd referral: Assignment to retract for one day 4th referral: Assignment to retract for 2 days 5th referral: Suspension
