BEFORE TRYOUTS

WHAT TO EXPECT AT VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS

  • Check in at least 15 minutes prior to start time
  • You will need to bring the following items to tryouts:
    1. Tryout form (can be found on MGM & Semmes Facebook page)
    2. Sports physical (if it is not uploaded to Dragonfly)
    3. Athletic gear (shoes, kneepads, etc…)
    4. Water Bottle
  • Athlete evaluations will consist of
    • Skill evaluations
    • Position evaluations
    • Competitive evaluations during controlled scrimmages
  • Teams Selected: There will be a list of names posted to the MGM Facebook page on May 27th, after tryouts. If your name appears on the list, you are invited to come to tryouts the next day. If your name does not appear on the list, you did not make it past that round, and therefore will not attend the next day of tryouts. After tryouts on May 28th, names of the official MGM volleyball team will be posted on MGM’s Facebook page.
  • After Team Selection
    • Parent meeting
    • Contracts signed and collected
    • Athletes try on uniforms and order uniforms

In order for your child to tryout for volleyball, you have to have a parent account on www.dragonflymax.com.  On this website, you will find the list of forms and certificates which have to be completed before your child will be allowed to tryout. You must also have a current physical to try out.
