Société Honoraire de Français

The purpose of the Société Honoraire de Français (French Honor Society) is to recognize excellence in the classroom, to encourage enthusiasm for French language and culture, and to promote service to the school and the community.

Membership in SHF, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French, is the highest honor for students of French in the country.  Membership consideration is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are enrolled in French 3 or higher.  Candidates must have maintained an A average in French throughout their secondary school study of French.  Candidates must also have maintained a B average or higher in all other secondary school subjects prior to the semester of selection.

The SHF national constitution and Mary G. Montgomery’s local constitution and by-laws are available upon request by e-mailing Mrs. Lindsay.
