Winners of MGM’s Veterans Day Oratorical

MGM hosted their annual Veterans Day assembly on Thursday, November 08. Guests were treated to patriotic songs performed by MGM’s choir, patriotic music played by MGM’s wind ensemble, and inspirational speeches delivered by the winners of MGM’s Veterans Day oratorical: Timothy Leimenstoll and Jade Houston (1st place) and Jack Bryant (2nd place). In addition, MGM JROTC color guard presented the colors and JROTC cadets greeted guests. MGM’s broadcast journalism staff, Viking Daily, created a video honoring veterans of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. MGM also recognized its four veterans: Mr. James Crawford and Ms. Sheryl Stroud who both served in the United States Navy, and Sgt First Class (retired) Phillip Lee and Major (retired) Daniel Burch who both served in the United States Army and lead the JROTC program at MGM. The event was emceed by Viking Daily staff members Kaleigh Tolbert and Jeremiah Gibson. The event concluded with a short reception. Thank you to all of the students and staff members whose hard work resulted in a moving tribute to those who serve.
