Have you gotten the Mobile County Public Schools app yet? You can customize it by selecting your child's school (or multiple schools), receive push notifications, read news and updates, see grades in MyPowerHub, and even add events from the app directly to your calendar.
Setting up the app is easy!
Click “More” on the bottom.
Then click the Settings icon up top.
Under Schools, click “Subscribe” and select your school(s) to receive important news and updates.
MyPowerHub
Grades and attendance are available through the MCPSS app by visiting the My PowerHub link from the Mobile County Public Schools app's main menu. (Not via the Rooms tab, and no longer via Schoology).
To find the My PowerHub link, open the app and tap the “More” tab at the bottom right of the app. Then select “My PowerHub.” That link will take you directly to a login page, where you can view your child’s grades, attendance, assignments, and discipline information.
If you forgot your password to log into My PowerHub/PowerSchool, click "Reset password" and follow the instructions.
If all else fails, you can email powerschool_parents@mcpss.com and the support team will work with you to fix it.
Rooms
Mobile County Public Schools is also launching a new communication tool for parents. It’s called Rooms, and it will allow you to connect directly with your child’s teachers for important messages and announcements.
Follow these steps to access Rooms:
Download the new Mobile County Public Schools app, and select the school(s) that your children attend. On the app, you’ll be able to get important news and updates, see a calendar of events, view lunch menus, and access your children’s grades and attendance via My PowerHub.
To connect directly with your teachers, you’ll need to log in to the Rooms feature. Click on the Rooms tab on the bottom of your screen.
Use the phone number or email address you used to register your child. The app will verify that you are registered as a custodial parent or guardian by sending you a code.
If you are unable to log in, contact your child’s school to make sure your registration information is up to date.
Once you are logged in, you can choose how and when to receive notifications. You can also select your preferred language.
Rooms helps you stay in touch with your child’s teachers as well as sponsors and coaches of the activities and sports that your child participates in, all in one place. You’ll be able to read and send messages to your child’s teachers, as well as to get announcements, materials and class information from your teacher.
If you are a custodial parent and are unable to log in, contact your child’s school to ensure your registration information is up to date and accurate. Parents/guardians who were marked as "custodial" during registration should be able to log in.
If two parents/guardians were listed at registration as having the same email address and phone number, the system will not be able to verify them. Those parents/guardians will need to provide unique email addresses and phone numbers for each parent/guardian.
Please be patient with school personnel as we have to follow certain protocol to ensure the safety and privacy of our students. That may require an in-person visit to the school and presenting an ID. Any updates made to our electronic records will take at least 24 hours to populate.
To add a contact to receive messages, you will have to visit your school in person and present identification.
You can also try deleting and reinstalling the app or updating it if needed.
If you are having technical difficulty with the app, visit: info.apptegy.com/rooms-central.

At Mary G. Montgomery High School, we are proud to be Vikings—not just in name, but in the values we live by. We chose Viking V.A.L.O.R. as our school motto because it reflects both the bold spirit of the Viking heritage and the character we want to see in every student. Vikings were known for their courage, teamwork, and determination. They ventured into the unknown, relied on their crews, and faced challenges head-on. In the same way, we believe our students can face life’s challenges with strength, integrity, and a positive attitude. Viking V.A.L.O.R. is more than just words—it’s a roadmap for how we treat ourselves, each other, and our community. Our school is at the heart of a strong, supportive community, and these values guide us to be good teammates, helpful neighbors, and responsible leaders both inside and outside the classroom. Whether we are on the field, in the lab, or in the hallway, V.A.L.O.R. reminds us of who we are and what we stand for.
What V.A.L.O.R. Stands For
V – Venture
We encourage students to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and take on challenges with confidence.
A – Accountability
We take responsibility for our actions, our words, and our commitments, and we work to make things right when we fall short.
L – Leadership
We inspire others by setting a good example, lending a hand, and doing what’s right—even when no one is watching.
O – Optimism
We believe in looking for solutions, staying positive, and lifting each other up during tough times.
R – Respect
We treat ourselves, others, and our school with kindness, dignity, and care, building trust and strong relationships.

Important message from the MCPSS Transportation Department:
Mobile County Public School System MCPSS
Date: August 21, 2025
To: Parents/Guardians and Students
From: Terrince Crawford, Route Specialist – Zone 2
Subject: Bus Rider Information Sheet – Required for Mobile County Public School System Bus Transportation
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
We hope this message finds you well as we begin another successful school year. To ensure safety and in accordance with Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT), it is mandatory that a Bus Rider Information Sheet be completed and submitted for each student by Monday, August 25, 2025, to ride the school bus. Please complete and return the Driver Information Sheet by Monday, August 25, 2025. Forms can be submitted to the bus driver.
Until the form is received, after Monday, August 25, 2025, your student will not be allowed to ride the bus. This policy is in place to ensure we have accurate emergency contact details and transportation plans for every student. If you need another copy of the form, please contact the bus driver. Students were given unique “roles” ranging from Open Communicator to Conflict Creator, Dependable & Reliable to Not Willing to Adapt. They then worked in two “companies”:
🏭 Company A used AI-powered robots to help with production.
🏭 Company B relied solely on live employees.
The goal? Fill customer orders as quickly as possible while navigating different personalities, communication styles, and work habits.
After the simulation, we debriefed to talk about:
✅ How teamwork, communication, and adaptability can make or break a project
✅ The real-world impact of soft skills in any job
✅ How AI changes — but doesn’t replace — the need for people skills
💡 Our takeaway? Technology can speed things up, but soft skills are the real power tools in the workplace!

We would love to see you all come out and support the Vikings Tuesday, August 19th @ 5:30pm.
