Homecoming tickets go on sale Monday, August 24th and will end Sept. 1st. MGM students must purchase their ticket on GoFan for $35. MGM students who turned in a date request form will need to purchase his/her OWN ticket through GoFan. Once approved, MGM students may then purchase their date's ticket in Mrs. Stewart's room before school, between class, or after school until 2:40. Cash or check ONLY. The date will receive a paper ticket. MGM students must present their student ID and GoFan ticket. Outside guests must present a valid ID and the paper ticket. Students will not be allowed to enter the dance without their ID and ticket.
Dance Attire: Semi-formal. Dresses should be mid-length. No plunging necklines or revealing cuts, no excessively low/deepback cut-outs or midriffs of more than one inch of skin showing. No exposed undergarments or excessively revealing slits in skirts. Guys should wear dressy slacks with collared shirts and a tie. No jeans, sagging pants, shorts, flip-flops or hats. All purses should be clear and small. No bookbags or large totes.

Come cheer with the cheerleaders! Tiny Vikes Cheer registration is now open. Tiny Vikes will cheer during the game on Friday, September 11th. Visit the link to sign up. I have been absolutely blown away by the generosity of our community! ❤️ Our Textile Club has already received **so many donations of fabric, notions, sewing supplies, and sewing machines**, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped us get started.
Now, it’s time to call on the students! 📣
**You do NOT need any experience.** You don’t have to know how to sew, crochet, embroider, needle punch, or macramé. You don’t have to consider yourself “creative.”
**All you need is a desire to learn and make something.** 🧵❤️
Our main focus this year will be **SEWING**, but we’ll also explore other textile arts along the way. Whether you’ve always wanted to learn how to use a sewing machine, want to make something with your own hands, or simply want a place to create, relax, and try something new…

HOCOchella festival season is quickly approaching! Homecoming week is scheduled for August 31st- Sept. 5th. All information for homecoming can be found in grade-level Schoology groups. Be sure to check Schoology (incoming freshman will receive their Schoology code the first day of school) for due date, ticket sales, homecoming maid/king information, and date request forms. Our first-round picks of MGM teachers will be ready to greet students with high fives throughout the school day, and our Leadership Students will be out before first period to welcome everyone and celebrate an AWESOME first week back!

Fall Underclassmen (9-11) Picture Day will be Monday, August 17, 2026, during the school day. Students will be escorted to the photographers during their history classes. Students must be in correct school uniform to have their pictures taken.
Picture purchases will be available after Picture Day. Approximately two weeks after Picture Day, each student will receive a proof card to take home. Parents will also receive an email with a link to view proofs and order pictures.

Bus routes have been updated and posted through the transportation department of MCPSS. If you need information about bus stop locations, times, driver names, or bus numbers, please use this link https://tinyurl.com/5t5y9h8v. You will enter your address (the one listed in PowerSchool) and all bus information will be listed there. Please make sure students are at the bus stop at least 10 minutes before the scheduled arrival time every morning.
If your student rides the bus in the morning of the first day of school, it will be VERY helpful for them to take a picture of the bus number that morning so that they will know what bus to ride in the afternoon.

Our summer interns at Hargrove Engineers & Constructors presented their internship experiences. MGM was proud to have 3 students complete the internship program. Owen Ladner and Sophia Perez are 2026 graduates that are headed off to college in the fall and Jacob Crain is a rising junior that will continue pursuing his engineering aspirations. They each worked with an amazing team that helped them learn through various projects and hands on assignments. During the presentation, they spent time explaining how this experience strengthened their future career goals. So very thankful to Hargrove for this experience for our students.
We are 1 day away from in person registration. Please make sure to complete the online portion of the registration process including uploading your 2 proofs of residency. You may pay with cash, check, or card during registration. If you have a junior or senior student that will be purchasing parking sticker, please make sure to have a copy of your insurance, drivers license, and tag number. There will be spirit items for sale during registration or you may purchase from the pre orders. During registration we will debut our new school spirit stickers. Stickers will be $2 each. Show your Viking pride. The stickers will be a cash only sale.
If paying by efunds ahead of time, please bring in printed receipt. On July 16th we will have an ESL translator available to help our ESL families. On July 15th during Freshmen registration, we will have Academy Ambassadors available to give tours of the school campus.
