Monthly Message

As we welcome December, a month filled with gratitude and reflection, let's take a moment to appreciate the progress we've made this year. This is a time to come together, celebrate our achievements, and support one another as we head into the holiday season. Let's focus on completing all assignments and assessments. Please continue to stay in contact with your child's teacher to ensure that he/she is completing their class assignments and submitting. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season ahead!

Reminders

• All students should be picked up from school by 2:45 pm. (daily)

• Students must be in complete uniform including ID badges. (daily)

• Students must bring their devices(laptops and chargers) daily.

• Students must have their phones powered off and secured in their Yondr pouches. (daily)

Monthly Events

• Monday, December 8th: DMS Theatre III Performance at 6 pm.

• Tuesday, December 9th: Choral Concert at 6 pm.

• Thursday, December 11th: DMS Basketball Games vs. Calloway at home. 3:30 pm.(Girls 1st)

• Monday, December 15th: DMS Basketball at Williamson at 4 pm. (Girls 1st)

• Wednesday, December 17th: Band and Strings Department Winter Concert at 6 pm.

Holiday Break

• Friday, December 19th: End of 2nd Quarter and Students last day

• Monday, December 22nd through Monday, January 5th: Students' Holiday Break

• Tuesday, January 6th: 3rd Quarter Beings and Students return to school.

The Evolving Butterflies, along with our founding sponsor, Mrs. Inez Tucker, had a wonderful time serving the students of Ella Grant Elementary for our first-semester service project! 🦋📚✨

This project was created to give our young ladies the opportunity to be role models and mentors—showing leadership, compassion, and the importance of giving back to the community. Our goal was to inspire a love of reading in the kindergarten students and bring a little extra joy to their season, all while reinforcing the values of generosity and service that our Evolving Butterflies embody.

After sharing stories and smiles with the students, our group enjoyed a beautiful time of fellowship over brunch at The Toasted Yolk.

We are so proud of our girls and grateful for every parent, supporter, and partner who makes experiences like this possible. Here’s to continuing the journey of growth, service, and sisterhood!

Lady Tigers win again!

Congratulations to our Lady Tigers Basketball team on their 26–19 victory over Calloway-Smith! 🏀🐅
The Lady Tigers remain undefeated, and we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and teamwork.
Come out and support our Tigers on Monday, 11/17/25, as both the boys’ and girls’ teams host Williamson at Dunbar. Let’s pack the gym and cheer them on! 💛🖤

The Evolving Butterflies had a wonderful session on 11/08/25! Mrs. Letrisha West shared an inspiring lesson on financial literacy. The Butterflies received great information they can carry with them throughout their lives. She included two engaging activities, and three Butterflies each won $20! We are so thankful to Mrs. West for taking the time to visit and teach us today.

Our next meeting will feature a guest speaker who will present on Social Media Etiquette and Careers in Social Media.
