Mary G. Montgomery's leadership class hosted the Bucket Event on March 30. Kevin Scott spoke to a group of students in the school's auditorium about encouraging others. He challenged students to "fill the buckets" of others through kind words and acts. Mr. Scott, co-founder of ADDO Institute, travels the world to share his views on encouraging others and community service. MGM was honored to have him visit our campus.
The Leadership III class also launched three overflow projects:
- Bite Back - A fundraising effort taking place April 2-13 to provide mosquito nets, prevention education, and medical treatment for children threatened by malaria-infected mosquitoes. Purchase a $5.00 bracelet from a team member or donate in room 405.
- The Senior-Senior Prom - A prom for the senior adults in the MGM community and the MGM seniors. This event will be held April 28 in the school gymnasium from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Seniors should see class president Kendall Turk. Senior adults should RSVP by emailing Ms. Miller here.
- Beauty is Within - An awareness campaign on April 30 through May 4 in which girls go without makeup to encourage self confidence and true beauty in their peers. Sign up and/or order a t-shirt in room 405.
