The Mary G. Montgomery Band took the streets of Chicago by storm at the 2012 St. Patrick's Day Parade. Fifty band members and forty parents left just after midnight Thursday morning to catch a bus to the New Orleans airport, where they took a plane to Chicago. Many band members had never flown before or traveled very far, so this was an exciting opportunity for them.
While in Chicago, the MGM Band members ate deep dish pizza at Giodano's Pizza, attended a performance by the Blue Man Group, and visited the world renowned Museum of Science and Industry and the Field Museum. Many Vikings tuned in to ABC or WGN on Saturday trying to catch a glimpse of the band as they marched down Michigan Avenue. It is not too late to make a donation to the band for this wonderful trip. Call 251-221-3167 and pledge your support today, or send donations to 4275 Snow Road, Semmes, AL 36575 to the attention of the MGM Band.
