Congratulations to MGM’s varsity volleyball team who competed in the state volleyball tournament for the 4th time in the school’s history. The Lady Vikings finished second in the area tournament qualifying them for the Super Regionals, where they defeated Auburn High School advancing them to the Elite Eight. While the Lady Vikings fell short of victory at state, they performed well this season.

As a result of their impressive performances this season, several players received honors. Kiersten Nezat (senior), Scooter Elliott (sophomore), and Airyonna Weaver (freshman) were selected for All County by the Mobile County Coaches Association for Girls’ Sports. In addition, Kiersten Nezat was named Kiwanis’ Player of the Week.

Congratulations, Lady Vikings, Head Coach Nancy Shoquist, and Assistant Coach Cindy Dobbs.
